IPL - The breeding ground of NONSENSE ?

Indian Premier League or DLF IPL rather as they call  it  is  a brilliant  idea  which has  caught the imagination of everyone and greatly benefited the cricketers is sinking into the morass of shame and scandal.An innovative venture which enormously helped India to lift the World Cup after 28 long years has found itself  mired  in  sleaze and corruption because  of   the    nonsensicality   of  celebrities , indiscipline of players and governing council's weak regulatory framework. Financial irregularities have become a recurrent theme and cricket is hardly any primary activity in the gigantic showbiz.IPL is turning out to be next SHARJAH where sordid saga of betting market is clouding.There is a strict need to preserve the sanctity of the sport NOT by terminating the league but rather introducing strict surveillance, transparency , control and keeping people of unknown means out of the cricket circle.  

Foreign Direct Investment - A Nonsensicality ?

Today I went to Gandhi Nagar market to check out newly arrived stuff at Duke, Koutons and Daisley  Collections.There is a big hype associated with these brands  because they feature top clothing  retail not only in India but all around the globe . Because of the eminent  quality of products that these stores offer they impose high price rate on all products associated with them .Though I am completely  moderate still I prefer to purchase my wears from these high - profilic outlets because the quality of cloth is optimum and the conceptualization of design is truly artistic and genuine.I guarantee, you buy any garment from any of these retail stores and wear it even after a half a decade or so it would still relish on you and give you a classic look.The design outlook of garments manufactured by these foreign outlets is so much alluring and unique which is also the main reason for high price index of the garments.

The optimum quality of the garments produced by these outlets can be attributed to the highly mechanized machinery that these firms employ for the manufacturing.These are foreign firms and apply foreign concept in their production.They have established themselves in India on account of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) .Foreign traders avail the opportunity of buisnesss transaction in our nation through this process. Raising its level by the Central Government tends to alleviate the mood of the foreign investors but at the same time causes depression to DESI organizations.At every instance  whenever the  Central Government has signaled the raise   in FDI , severe protests has been conducted all over the nation by the DESI associations.They have always expressed dismay and anguish over this move of the Central Government which has ultimately generated a deep conflict between both of them.

But is this anguish is really justifiable...? The government who is working for the concerns of its citizens possess what kind of strategy in its mind...? Can it really justify its cause...?

Actually there is NO PROBLEM in the concept of FDI.The Government has just failed to counter the hysteria created by a select few trader's associations.I present you a bigger picture which I have comprehensively analyzed and it would remove every element of doubt  in your mind regarding the role of FDI in various fields.Here I am exploring all the myths which gives false impression about FDI.

MYTH  Kirana Stores will be wiped out.
REALITY  Kirana stores have beaten back competition from Indian-owned organized retailers by improving their own standards,Their unique buisness models,offering sales on credit and free home delivery will keep them on buisness.

MYTH  Farmers will not have any bargaining power with large retailers.
REALITY  Farmers have no bargaining power at government regulated mandis.Improvements in the supply chain that follow FDI in retail will give farmers access to more markets,increasing their bargaining power.

MYTH  Supermarkets will lead to an increase in prices because they will limit                    competition.       
REALITY  Prices,particularly of agricultural produce,will see fall because intermediaries in the supply chain will be cut out.

MYTH  Small and medium enterprises will suffer as foreign retailers will source overseas.                                        
REALITY  The Government has imposed a condition requiring 30 percent of procurement from local SME's.The experience will help Indian SME's in finding markets abroad.

MYTH  Millions of job will be lost in unorganized sector.
REALITY  Millions of jobs will be created in the organized sector offering people better working conditions.Since kirana stores will survive,additional employment will be created.

Foreign Direct Investment  increases efficiency,provides wide range of choices and enhances growth in socio - economic field.The associations that are protesting the FDI  are expressing concern only for kirana store owners.No one seems concerned about the benefits that farmers will get if their produce is purchased directly by big retailers.I agree that kirana store owners in the immediate vicinity of big retailer has suffered a loss in revenue but that is for a short term only,the long term impact is negligible.The deep penetration of FDI concept into our nation would enable unorganized sector turn into organized one and thus ensuring  qualitative change in employment , better facilities for the employees and ultimately rise in the national economy. 

Food Security in India

 Actually our country is in state of ' stable famine '. Our Central Government has proposed a  Food Security Bill  which it claims to be 'sharp'. But if the draft of Food Security Bill that is currently before the Standing  Committee of the  Parliament  gets passed , it will get worse.The proposed Food Security Bill means to alleviate this nation from starvation,is a disaster.The bill shows three categories  - excluded,general (Above Poverty Line) and priority ( Below Poverty Line).People in the general category get a monthly 3 kg of grain per capita and the priority  category get 7 kg . The very basic  method by which they identify these  categories is faulty.According to the government,an urban person whose daily expenditure is Rs 32 or less and a rural person whose daily expenditure is Rs 26 or less is BPL.The criteria and implementation are faulty so how it benifit the people ?That beggar having earned Rs 40 in just two minutes would be dreading of an income - tax department raid as he is above the BPL mark.


The grievance redressal system proposed in the bill is also faulty.The Food security Bill allows the Government to change from PDS (Public Distribution System) to cash transfer system at any point of time. It is a step backward from existing  system. According to the research by economist Usha Patnaik,there has been a steady decline in grain consumption over 10 year period.A family of five that used to consume 880 kg of grains annually consumes only 770kg after lapse of 10 years.And since this a mean figure,it means that the economically advantaged have actually increased their consumption and the decline for the economically  backward is far greater.Planning Commission in 2011 submitted an affidavit in Supreme Court which revises the recommended calorific intake downward to 1800 per day;this is against the Indian Council for Medical Research's recommendation of 2400 calories per day for people doing moderate work and 2100 calories per day for those doing sedentary work.


We need an extensive public campaign to acquaint people with flaws of the Bill and the need for a Bill that will enable people to get enough food.I don't know what  game my fate will play with me in the future.But I have every reason to work for the welfare for such kind of helpless people.In fact I really want to improve the living standard of  these people .I don't have any idea about the strategy in the mind of the government.It is thinking hard over spending Rs 1 Lakh crores to provide sufficient food,but easily spends Rs 5 lakh crore towards tax revisions for corporates!!Well whatever is in the mind of government I will try my best to  curb widespread malnutrition across the country  which is just  now wearing the medal of  potential to improve  due to faulty  policies of the government.  
   

Mumbai to Bombay. . . Reinventing Myself

      Today I went to the Yashoda Hospital to collect the medical report of my mother. When I came out of the hospital I saw a mere 4 to 5 year old small kid sitting on the Thella, selling the groundnut and gajjak.I felt so much pity on his condition that I took out Rs 5 from my wallet and gave it to him(I buyed nothing from him).Then I went to the Nehru Cricket Stadium just opposite to the hospital and made 6 rounds non-stop around the boundary line.Perhaps this was my most mind-boggling jog till date because all through out my brain was occupied with the pathetic images of the little kid whom I just gave Rs 5.While jogging I spoke to myself-"You have made a mess of yourself by withdrawing from the merchant navy( TS Chanakya Mumbai) which could have landed you in the golden heaven and you could have been earning Rs 500000 per month(which is much more than what a typical 9 CGPA IITian earn in the beginning!!) and living a pretty luxurious life. Rs 500000 per month would have been a ample amount of money to help these poor kids...Screw you Siddharth!!". Anyway,the pathetic condition of that little kid made me to rethink of my Mumbai Saga...

1 Year & 5 Months Ago...

I landed in Mumbai (at Mumbai Central) for the first time ever in my life  after travelling 1400 km long distance in 22 hours from Ghaziabad by Golden Temple Mail cutting across the territory of  New Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujrat and finally Maharashtra.

I went to the Directorate General of Shipping , Mercentile  Marine Department , Mumbai Central to complete official procedures & medical tests.After completing all the formalities I provisionally got admitted in the Training Ship Chanakya.

However I withdrew from the institute in between the term owing to lack of interest. I withdrew from TS Chanakya  IMU and took admission in a state regional college where I am currently  pursuing  graduation in  Computer Science (B.E) . 

It has been nearly one and a half years since then.They say time never remains the same, it keeps on changing.In these one and half years  I have intercepted various kind of things and came across peoples of different age groups who maintain different opinion regarding life & certainly it has affected me to a lot of extent. My mindset has dramatically changed. Now the issue of prime concern is that I have become so much passionate about pursuing my career in Bollywood(Bombay Cinema) that IAS seems to be secondary. I admit that I was so much desirous of being an IAS when I withdrew from T S Chanakya but now I am following different rhythm which seems to be awkward to everyone except me. One may declare me as a PSYCHO .But I have comprehensively monitered and analyzed the situation and came to a conclusion that  ..........                     I am suitable for becoming a film artist.


I have always maintained that a person should tie himself to his UNIQUE goal.His aim should be the top most priority in his whole life. But I DO NOT have any single aim . Actually I have many and they evolve from time to time.The word IAS revolved around me one and a half years ago . Now a feeling comes to my mind that do I really possess the qualities of becoming an IAS officer? Do I really deserve to be a part of an Indian Administration?One and a half year ago I became infuriated and my resentment level went so much beyond the normal level over the alleged spectrum scam that I threw up my hands in disgust and started aspiring for the IAS citing the reason that I want to curb the corruption prevailing in the country . Was my 'firm' decesion really justifiable....? Actually No. I think I was kind of little cynical at that time.Going with the unreasonable self-interest during that period of time was perhaps the reason for taking the decision.


In course of time,I have penetrated into the numerous situations and the only common aspect that I have came across is the FAME. Acting is the best nuance to attain it.To achieve this I can bid goodbye to the academics  because it cannot provide me the fame.Grades are no more of a primary concern that they used to be.But there is one imperitive thing that we all should remember.It is always good to be passionate about something.I am passionate about acting,you might be passionate about some other thing.But passion should be secondary to the basic needs.Haan,agar pet bhara hua hai toh koi dikkat nahi lekin agar khali hai aur phir bhi aap apne passion ke piche bhag rahe ho,tabh toh phir problem hai. So the simple logic is first fulfill your basic needs and then go for your passion.Acting is my passion and I'll certainly go for it after fulfilling my basic needs ( if they are achieved ).Of course it will earn me the fame as well as money in plentitude through which I will be able to eradicate the pathetic condition of thousands of such poor kids who are unable to access the basic needs for their sustenance includ- ing education and are persuaded to work under the tough conditions.But the biggest question is that will I be able to return back to the Bombay  which I left as a Mumbai in the wake of cynical-ism.

Do Grades Govern My Life..?

I know my grades were not going to help me in achieving what I wanted to do in my life...I do not understand how success can be linked to one's academic result.It is the talent that counts not marks. If this is not true , then there are thousands of people  graduating from the reputed  universities around the world with considerably good marks every year but they fail to do any relevannce and have a living similar to that of dulls. Can they provide any justification regarding this ? Till now they haven't. You cannot strike a big deal and achieve fame even with the exemplary result in academics.Artistic skills is the cause you should buy into especially if you are an Indian.

My Deepest Fear

My deepest fear is not that I am inadequate. My deepest fear is that I am powerful beyond measure. It is my light,not the darkness that most frightens me.I ask myself,who am I to be brilliant,handsome,talented and fabulous?Actually,who am I not to be what am I . I am the child of God. My small playing do not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around me.I am born to make manifest the glory of God that is within me.I mean it's not just in some of us,it's in everyone.And as I let my own light shine,I unconsciously give other people to do the same.As I am liberated from my own fear,my presence automatically liberate others. . .

MY POWER IS MY AGGRESSION,MY ATTITUDE WHICH NEVER LETS ME DOWN.I HAVE SEEN BLACK DAYS IN MY LIFE BUT STILL I AM NOT BOUND TO DETER AWAY FROM MY PATH...
